The key services provided by our R&D department include:
Route Scouting
We leverage our considerable experience, in-depth understanding of synthetic chemistry, mastery of advanced methodologies and our zest for innovation to develop Routes of Synthesis (RoS) to meet the most complex requirements. We have the ability to rapidly assess the attributes of existing synthesis processes and suggest more powerful, scalable and cost-effective alternatives.
Our selection of a preferred synthetic route is made after considering optimization of aspects such as processing timeline, scalability, safety, quality, environmental impact and intellectual property. Our objective is to improve process efficiency using the latest technologies to decrease development time, reduce costs and produce consistent batches of the desired quality.
As part of route scouting, we offer services such as consulting, pre-feasibility studies, full feasibility studies, gram scale/kg level development, support in technology transfer and implementation.
Contract Research
A key component of our R&D capabilities is our contract research offering. We use our know-how and infrastructure to take on challenging research assignments and deliver superior results. Many of our customers and partner firms seek to take advantage of our exceptional R&D track record by engaging us to perform specialized research activities. We are adept at delivering both end-to-end research projects and any specific components as required.
To achieve success, research projects usually need a strong, diverse team with multiple skill-sets and the requisite experience in performing critical functions. Another factor to consider is the access to specialized equipment to carry out complex reactions. Process Development and Scale Up
Our comprehensive process development and scale-up service encompasses all activities in the production life-cycle from initial research to large-scale commercialization. We distinguish ourselves from competitors in the extremely quick turnaround time taken to achieve these tasks and our high success rate of around 95% speaks volumes of our expertise in this area.
To accomplish the above, we have effectively utilized our experience and expertise to devise consistent, repeatable and scalable processes which are safe and have minimal environmental impact. These include processes for the invention of new products through extensive research, development of better delivery mechanisms for existing products and devising new methods to facilitate mass production in a cost-effective manner.
Scaling up is the process by which a product initially developed in a small quantity in a laboratory can later be manufactured in bulk for commercial use with high quality, safety and reliability .
Our well-equipped laboratories and pilot plants give us the capacity to develop products initially at a small scale, usually in grams. After rigorous testing and approval, production is scaled up to kilograms and even tonnage depending on the level of commercialization required. Product quality is tested at every stage of development, as per our processes which comply with ISO and GMP standards.
